The proposed #ChatControl EU law, intended for a good purpose, seems to be very problematic. It will give states totalitarian control of all private communication and eventually as unintended consequence ban #opensource operating systems. @demitasse The planned law is related to the good cause to protect children. But it appears as side effects at the same time can cause too much negative problems for privacy in general. I think it can be compared with the feature Apple planned to implement, forgotten the name of it, they put on hold to redo and then withdraw all together - it was also for a good cause for children but at the same time problematic for privcy in general. Balance is always tricky and needs to be analyzed.
