My strategy for time being for followers to me:
I keep it open to follow me. However I get followers that has no bio, almost nothing or profile looks in one way or another suspect in my judgement. Those followers I block or delete. Of course, it can be that a newcomer add first and present later, but I think it is reasonable to describe oneself first.
