I'm a scientist who researches how ions cross cell membranes. I study ion pumps, exchangers and channels which are all amazing nanomachines. My lab is at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland (US).
I also direct a PhD training program in Cellular & Molecular Medicine so my hands are full with all things relating to grad ed.

@madamscientist Baltimore... I've been there once, for OFC Optical Fiber Conference, back in 2000. In the inner harbor area, I think it was called. You had a big nice bookstore nearby!
@madamscientist Same Rajino, good to meet you here! I'll talk more Baltimore memories another day. :-) Btw, the bookstore is in a big older red brick building, if my memory is right, but memory might fail.
