Is there a safe, free (preferably #FOSS) alternative to Microsoft Lens on Android? Please boost to get more answers. Thank you in advance. #FOSStodon

@jt_rebelo
I have been using OpenNoteScanner. It's quite good imo.

My workflow is usually scan with the app, upload on nextcloud and from my PC I use a combo of unpaper and tesseract to create OCRed PDFs.

@dyamon @jt_rebelo It's on F-Droid, too.
I just got it. It wanted full files access rather than file-by-file access, and I hit no and it did this though

@golemwire @dyamon I left my instalation from F-Droid access them once and disabled it right after it and nothing like that opened. It hadn't had time to anything other than create a folder to save its files.

@golemwire @dyamon its not perfect, but workable if it has, like you say, limitations on accessing files (for an application without "share to" capabilities its too much to ask, Lens doesn't use them for example)
