@allinone0@fosstodon.org @tw0shoes I have heard that Qwerty is a better layout for phone use / typing with thumbs etc. Maybe this is because it was designed to keep keystrokes physically distant, preventing typewriter bars from colliding back in the day.
Dvorak in some cases (or many maybe) tries to keep keystrokes nearby, and maximize use of the home row (note that the home row has the vowels AOEUI).
I don't know if that's why Qwerty is recommended as a phone keyboard, but fun facts.
@golemwire @allinone0 that's actually an interesting thought, never really thought about keyboards for mobile. I use the swipe input, so mostly about knowing where the keys are.
