Regulating Big Tech
The European Union is not fooled by the malicious compliance of Alphabet/Google, Apple or Meta/Facebook. https://9to5mac.com/2024/03/25/app-store-proposals-rejected/
'Today, the Commission has opened non-compliance investigations under the Digital Markets Act (DMA) into Alphabet’s rules on steering in Google Play and self-preferencing on Google Search, Apple’s rules on steering in the App Store and the choice screen for Safari and Meta’s “pay or consent model”.'

@leighelse hm, "10% of total worldwide turnover", that's certainly a lot of money but I'm afraid it's still too low. I think Apple and Google can easily pay that amount every year and still stay in their monopoly position. I hope the EU will then revisit that law and change the 10% to something larger.
