Slovak outlet Aktuality reports that Tibor Gašpar, deputy head of the ruling Smer party, compared Ukraine to Hamas and its 2023 attack on Israel, claiming Russia was “provoked” into launching its full-scale invasion.
His remarks came during a TV debate with opposition leader Michal Šimečka, who sharply objected, asking whether Gašpar truly meant to equate Ukraine with a terrorist group that killed over a thousand civilians.
