You can get capable 3D printers for less than half that price. In fact that right there is almost the price of the Prusa Mini+ Kit.

The new one ain't completely - the company says it can't afford others stealing what they heavily invested to essentially be invented that much anymore without giving back. Mostly a reaction to chinese companies like Bambu, who only give back just enough so apologetics work and otherwise heavily undercut everyone to capture market share.
Still, the Core One is one of the most solid & heavily open-source printers out there. They just refrain from full schematics.
