For the first time in Belarus, aviation was used to shoot down a drone that had entered Belarusian airspace during a Russian attack on Ukraine. Around 4 AM, a Belarusian fighter jet intercepted a Shahed drone, as reported by the monitoring project "Belaruski Hayun." Although Shahed drones have been flying over Belarus since July 2024, this was the first instance of them being shot down.

I take it that the Belarusian air force shooting down one of Putin's Shahed drones intended to hit Ukraine indicates that Lukashenko has pretty much lost control over the air force, right?

@GreenFire @noelreports More likely the drone was off-course and endangering Belarus.
