Did you know that any law or test you create for gender in sports, cisgender people will fail as well?

Hormones? Some cis women have "male" levels.

Chromosomes? 1996 Olympics tried that. 10 cis women had XY w/intersex conditions.

Genitals? Ambiguity exists.

Furthermore do we really want to start inspecting the genitals, internal and external, of every athlete?

Birth certificates? They get changed.

@ErinInTheMorn The hard part of this question is that testosterone improves performance in certain physical tasks related to sports, and people with testes tend to have a lot more of it. Anyone can get performance benefits by taking more testosterone, which is of course rightly banned. So I think it is clear that some kind of separation in sports is helpful, but the hard part is drawing the line. I thought this covered it quite well: radiolab.org/episodes/dutee
