Ubuntu Touch gets a security update, but there's a bug you should know about before installing.

UBports has released versions 24.04-2.2 and 24.04-1.6 of its open-source mobile operating system.

What's new?

🔹Blocking root certificates associated with the eMudhra certificate authority compromise.
🔹Fixing an issue that could prevent the Morph browser from launching after certain updates.
🔹Preparatory changes to the VoLTE stack for future support on newer devices (24.04-2.2 only).

One important caveat: Gallery 3.2.0 has a regression that prevents photo albums from opening. UBports recommends updating Gallery to version 3.2.1 or later before updating the system, if available.

Open-source mobile platforms need regular maintenance too.

What's still holding you back from using Linux on a smartphone?

The main thing holding me back is just two things:

1. Reliable audio on calls (rings, audio ok)
2. Taking decent (not even high end) photos. I'm talking 12mp+ with decent autofocus and reasonably realistic color (ie not all green tinged).

The first phone that can do both of these on mainline, I'm jumping. Sounds like maybe the Fairphone 5?

@Blort @Sans_Google That sounds like the Librem 5 to me, a while ago already.
