#Google is going to close down #Android platform, making installing "uverified" apps almost impossible for a regular user. This would completely kill #FDroid, something I rely on to get apps that don't track me, don't show me ads and don't try to exploit me.
If you care about #FreeSoftware, you should care about this. Maybe with enough public uproar, Google like many other corporations before it will back off from this plan. But it certainly won't happen on it's own.
@unfa Google can choke on a fat one. I literally just got my phone the way I wanted it, deleted all spyware and bloatware, and have a smooth, cool machine that never bothers me or stresses me out.
And Lineage OS hasn't covered my model yet. I hate these bastards, I really do.

As mentioned, I'm waiting for my model to be covered by one of them - PostMarketOS doesn't seem to have my phone covered yet, based on their wiki (and apparently the manufacturer hasen't released the firmware yet, but they're likely to soon).
Hearing other people's good experiences helps make the wait bearable.

That's not how it works if you want to get good results. Just like with Linux on laptops some 15 years ago or so, you look around for a well-supported (or at least well-prospecting) device when you're buying one; otherwise you need to put the effort yourself.

I appreciate this comment for anyone who needs to learn, you're helping end the Google Monopoly. In my case
1) I live in Asia, and it's hard to get models that are covered by LineageOS, even secondhand. I also hate online shopping, which is my problem.
2) I did research, the model I just bought is likely to have firmware released soon. A similar model has been covered when it's firmware was released, so it's likely to happen, but not set in stone.
