Actually using #Librem5 in the wild from this weekend. Lets see if it can survive today, an actual workday.
So the workday is over and I am actually pleasantly suprised. I thought #Librem5 would already be depleted at the end of the day. Turns out around 5pm I had 10% of battery. So this means from around 8:30am to around 5pm the phone was still usable.
My expectation was around 12:00pm, the battery would be depleted, but that was not the case!
I think this another step to daily driving #Librem5. It is looking quite good!
@mrlakes That's without suspend, I assume? I'd expect it to still have more than 50% left if it was sleeping most of that time.
@dos yeah, without automatic suspend. I asumed this option would not make it possible to get calls. So I never enabled it.
@mrlakes Calls and SMS are actually what will wake it up just fine! VoIP, IM and other Internet-based stuff won't though (and whether alarms do depends on the OS). The LED indicator will at the moment stay dark while in suspend too.
When suspended, it lasts about 20-22 hours with the modem on.
@mrlakes Going out of suspend should be almost instantaneous and should bring you back to exactly where you were before, no logo screen. The best way to notice whether it was suspended or not is to look at the WiFi icon right after turning the screen on - if you see that it's connecting to the network, it was suspended (you can also check logs of course).
Personally I have it suspend after 1 minute on battery power.
