I don’t understand people who sign up for a social event and then never show up.
Of course, unexpected last minute conflicts sometimes arise, but I’m talking about a pattern where a bunch of people sign up, yet only a small percentage of them actually participate.
This is disappointing and frustrating for event organizers.
It feels like people have become antisocial, not just detached but disrespectful, as if public signups were somehow only personal, private, aspirations.
@lapcatsoftware I had this issue 15 years ago. We planned a monthly event (free tickets) with limited capacity. We ended up having tickets for 110% of the capacity that would sell out, and we still had space on the night.
