Not the biggest issue with Australia's new target by a good amount, but still, I had to rant about. Why do countries set emissions targets that have a 'range'???
@ketan yeah I just see it as a 62% target with an "aspirational" goal of 70%. My uni saying was "P's give degrees" and this is what I think about their range.
@dean@ketan I can't really think about the range without first hitting the first question: what actions are they going to take or will they bail at the first opportunity to bail? The connection is that given some level of seriousness I could imagine making a list of actions to reach the ambitious end of the range, and then either doing all of them to get to the ambitious target or doing enough of them to hit the more status-quo-y end of the range.
