An idea to use #chatgpt for good:

Translate patents from obfuscated legalese into a readable form, add keywords, summaries, and similar problems. Make it all public and searchable.

This will make it much easier to find patents, and reduce risk of submarine patents.

@kornel Thats totally fair, I just find it's pretty confidently wrong a lot in my own domain, and it -could-, if over-relied upon by people who didn't study the law, could result in some costly miscalculations

@caitp I agree the translation itself can't be trusted. However, it can be useful to make patents more searchable, and then painstakingly reviewed against the actual claims.
