self-hosting CI is a fucking nightmare

jenkins is the easiest to install but i assume the skill floor is infinite because i've never been able to get it to work properly

drone requires github/gitea/gitlab integration
buildbot

concourse only works on linux

gocd's website makes my eyes bleed

i cant remember why i don't like cds but it's on my list

buildbot requires me to write shit in python. i don't want that dude

all of these assume each build agent is on separate hardware too so i can't really throttle it and avoid system overload if i have a single desktop with containers and stuff

sometimes i think i'm just an idiot but it seems like a lot of tech is built for people who aren't me with needs that aren't mine and i'm just going to get a headache from trying to use it for my purposes
