You know what I want?
I wish smart TVs & ereaders had document-centric UIs. I don't care about (or even want, but I'm extreme) your branded silos, I care about the books, movies, shows, etc, etc they provide!
I want a smartphone which was contact-centric for the same reasons!
Why does everything have to be so app-centric! I'm not saying there can't be apps, but they *should* be more behind-the-scenes if that better suits your device's primary purpose.
@dean Basically: yes!
Though to be clear the UX I'm asking for doesn't have to be constrained by the Unix filesystem.
Then again in the smart TV case I do like the ability to plug USB sticks in & navigate their filesystems...
