I want to create a sales pitch for the Fediverse that is *not* predicated on the idea that existing platforms are bad.

Assume the user sees absolutely nothing wrong with proprietary platforms like Facebook and Twitter. The current way of thinking is that we must "educate" them on why these platforms are bad before we can sell them on the Fediverse. But why is the Fediverse better by its own accord?

@alex fedi is not a walled garden. For example if Twitter dm, fb messages and gtalk could talk (pun intended) I think fedi wouldn't be so appealing
