I will never ever tell you that you need to buy expensive gear to get started or make it, but I will always argue against the notion that gear “doesn’t matter” because it’s unhelpful & unproductive & leads to wasted money.

@BrodieOnLinux Personally I think for most content, the most important thing would be a decent microphone. The rest you can get as you go; after my last 2 video's trying to review a device with a small screen I discovered that I should probably invest in a better camera but before those video's I did not really need it as I was screen capturing most of the time any way.
@tuxfoo Sure there are certain types of content you can't do without equipment. A slow motion channel won't work without a high fps camera but for general vloggy or talking head videos it's not super important. Working on your presentation, design and marketing skills will do much more for you.
