I always forget which number is associated with each month but learning Japanese will force me to remember since there isn't a name for each month. You want January it's 一月 translates literally to 1 month, June it's 六月 which means 6 month

@BrodieOnLinux I forget too. English is weird, I have noticed that with other languages too. They often use numbers instead of unique noun's for both days and months. So the literal translation of Monday for a lot of languages would be "Day 1" which makes a lot more sense than Monday.
Other germanic languages also use the latin/germanic Mon, Tues. Jan etc; Eg german "Montag" (tag = day, The exception would be that they have a weird name for Wednesday.)

@tuxfoo I imagine the reason it's like that is those other cultures didn't use the same calender system that we use today so it was just easier to number everything instead of giving them names.

@tuxfoo @BrodieOnLinux Wednesday in German is "Mittwoch" which translates to "midweek"
