So glad to live in the timeline where corporate heads constantly make such big whoopsies that #FreeSoftware automatically becomes viable as a result:
- #Twitter got converted to #X, so #Mastodon and the #ActivityPub alternatives got a truckload of users
- #Reddit locking their API and worsening their mobile offerings, so #Lemmy and #KBin got an unexpected surge
- And now #Unity charging not just per shipped game but PER INDIVIDUAL INSTALLATION, may this be the moment for @godotengine@mastodon.gamedev.place to finally shine?

ATTENTION EVERYONE WRINGING THEIR HANDS OVER “#MASTODON ADMINS CAN READ MY DIRECT MESSAGES”: #SysAdmins have *always* been able to read your #email and DMs unless encrypted, including at the big #SocialNetworks and Internet providers. We used to have t-shirts that said, “I READ YOUR EMAIL.”
It’s just hitting now because you got used to places where the admins were kept away in their cubicles and data centers instead of greeting you at the front door.

Also setting up my @pixelfed account and working out what to do with over 20 years of photography, I might take this opportunity to reevaluate and reedit all my photos. If feel like its a fun challenge.
