@wannoye #postmarketos Clearly there are some audio issues on the #oneplus6. I have two OP6 phones, one running v24.06 stable and one running Edge, both with #gnomemobile and I have had various issues with audio over the past month or so. With no audio at all in Earpiece, toggling audio off/on in settings have sometimes rectified the issue. More troubling (on Edge) is the crackling or distorted sound from Earpiece. https://gitlab.postmarketos.org/postmarketOS/pmaports/-/issues/3245
@tomasoqvist I tested with POCO F1. Sound is very low and distorted, but it is "usable".
@wannoye Maybe this is something that is kernel related? When I get distorted audio in phone calls, it is far from useable. I hope devs will have the chance to look into this in the near future.
@tomasoqvist Probably that's the case. It really is a pity that we cannot use such a beautiful OS because of that "one thing". @peja Can you test and confirm this on your OP6?
@tomasoqvist last update fixed it! I never had this much clear sound as it is now! 🥳
@wannoye @tomasoqvist Yes. I can confirm this, the update fixed the sound when calling and receiving calls. I hope it will stay like this. 🙏️
@peja @wannoye Is the audio still working for you on #postmarketos edge? I am not using my edge #oneplus6 as daily right now, because when testing audio in settings, I still get "crackling" distorted audio for "Earpiece". It seems a bit "hit and miss", because sometimes it works after a restart, but then eventually goes back to the distorted audio.
@tomasoqvist @wannoye Yes, my happiness didn't last long. The sound problem with calls is present again. The first call always works properly, but next one has a distorted sound. Restarting the device gives you that one usable call.
@peja @tomasoqvist Same here, also new problem shows up - phone is logging me out at the beginning of the call sometimes. I'm using pipewire on edge.
@tomasoqvist I cannot recall when was the last time I had no issues with the sound during the calls. Didn't tried to use #telegram for calls but I'll try later, but as there is no sound when testing it from settings, I presume that it will also not work. Also, I have a POCO F1 running #phosh (same SoC as #oneplus6) laying around and I will test on it as soon as it charges a little (didn't use it for a while).
