I keep seeing these clips of #Biden telling voters that want him to change his stance on certain policies to go vote for someone else. Good gawds I hope they do.
Happy to hear Yang will be back on the stage in the next dem debate.

@kgosztola@twitter.com put together a summary of Tom Perez's nominations for #DNC committees. What I pulled from it is a number of the nominees have ties to industries/companies (Boeing, Walmart, Microsoft, Google, Blue Cross/Shield, and Goldman-Sachs) that have traditionally not been friendly to the voter.

We humans have become so incredibly efficient at producing food. We could feed everyone in the world if we tried.
The issue is capitalism.
The reason people are starving. The reason people are homeless, choking in toxic city air, unable to drink clean water. IT’S CAPITALISM.
Corrected misconceptions I grew up with about fruit:
* apples have no core, they can be entirely consumed (maybe leave stems and seeds). Some may get slightly woody around the center but most don't
* kiwi skin is edible, and consuming is easier/faster than skinning. Recommend slicing for greatest flesh to skin ratio
* the white fiberous material between the skin and flesh (pulp?) of an orange is actually very palatable. No more wasting time removing that

@willghatch in your Plan9 post I didn't see anything about the resource sharing section of 9p. I thought 9p allowed users to access hardware resources (e.g. CPUs) over the network. Thus low/middle end stations would be able to perform resource intensive tasks on demand by relying on a pool of shared infrastructure.

@willghatch learn to use a package manager. good operating systems have them built in. app stores are bad substitutes.
.@NPRKelly's interview with @SecPompeo went in a direction we weren't expecting. As described on @npratc: He screamed, swore at her and said she couldn't find Ukraine on a map.

“Unhinged.” The notion that @NPRKelly would confuse Ukraine with Bangladesh on a map is so ludicrous it doesn’t even merit comment. As for the other accusations, I trust our reporter. And as for “basic rules of decency”: well.

"Montaigne says that we despise our own beings. You’re imprisoned in this tomb of self-proclaimed ugliness. We should try to recognize that we are animals. A dog doesn’t have a list of corrections for his body. He isn’t embarrassed about anything. We should recognize that the differences between our brain and an animal’s brain do bring us certain benefits, but they also bring us needless anxieties." @iamstephenwest@twitter.com on Michele de #Montaigne
I forgot to mention, there's an organisation called Slave Free Chocolate, founded in 2007. They aim to make people aware of child slavery in West African chocolate farms and work to eradicate it. They also keep a list of ethical companies so you can help support the farmers and avoid any exploitative corporations.
What are some things that every computer user should learn? What things do you wish every computer user knew? What are some of the biggest benefits that individuals and/or society could reap if computer users learned these things?
Please boost, I honestly want as many serious answers as possible. Feel free to answer variations of the question for different levels of "computer users", such as programmers, office workers who use a computer 4+ hours per day, phone-only users, etc.
I guess on the plus side now my phone is smashed up the decision to get a #pinephone is that bit easier :/
"What really needs rethinking today is the notion that digital ads can only be effective when they are targeted, & when companies know everything about everyone."
