@rtwx Stop confusing "young man in tech" with "normal."

The whole of our culture is an "echo chamber" for that vocal minority.

You're choosing to side with those who rely on the violent oppression of people like me, because people like me are "toxic." You're choosing etiquette over human rights.

Please, I know you've faved and boosted many of my opinions; take what I've said and consider it.

@emsenn I like your post, but cant see an obvious solution to that conundrum..?

I guess it’s maybe like when I moved from my small town to the city when I left school. Exposure to the variety of new things has made me far more accepting of various lifestyles and cultures, than say... friends who never moved out of our small hometown. 🤔
How do you ease someone into a new network like that. Hmm.

Please tell me if I’m on the right track or not.

@rtwx I think the difference is that when you went from a small town to the city, the city wasn't built, pretty carefully, by marginalized people as a place where they could act as they want - say, a city of pedestrians, where cars and all their harms are forbidden.

If you come into city driving a hummer at full blast, there's no "easing" you out of that: get the fuck out, buddy!

What you see as people "moving quietly into city," others see as "driving hummers covered in Swastikas" 1n

@emsenn @rtwx and there's the rub!

Your metaphor is nowhere near accurate for the events that happened here. Continuing the metaphor it would be more like if someone said that "these pedestrians need to lighten up about motor vehicles, they overreact to any kind of car" while talking about driving a regular car slowly through the streets of Pedestrian City.

Nobody drove a Hummer anywhere, yet the reactions are as though someone did.

That's bad.

@kungtotte Hey, it's rude to interrupt people and involve yourself in their conversations.

Considering you did both of those, maybe you don't have a great understanding of the nuance of online communication and its intersection with sociology?

As there's always more people to talk to, I'm going to ignore you now since these seem as "red flags" to me. Goodbye!

@emsenn @kungtotte I'm not sure why you feel the need to so obnoxious to other people. If you truly can't stop being an asshole maybe deleting your Mastodon account and trying a different social network would be a good idea. Perhaps, something like reddit would fit you better.
