@fantinel Welcome! Welcome! ๐Ÿ˜„ I hope you have a great time here.

@JoshStrobl @BuddiesOfBudgie How do you manage your data while jumping between distros? I used to have everything on a cloud storage service (with encryption) but it was just a nuisance to have to download all my data back when I have to upgrade my system.

We've been hearing the news about Microsoft's persistent issues with Xbox server outages. The real persistent issue is that your console phones home to its overlord to ask if you can play a game in the first place.

For anyone looking to update their username and email address for all previously-made commits in a Git repo, take a look at this. It might be a better option for you than 'rewriting' your entire history.

@Cheeseness I am just curious. Is open source? If yes, which license did you use?

@Cheeseness Actually, I might be able to top that. I once 'bent' a bicycle seat quite by accident. My friends have been calling me the 'Man of Steel' ever since. ๐Ÿ˜‚

@bitwarden What about (LBRY)? It also has a smaller but dedicated community around it.

Just moved from to @codeberg@mastodon.technology. While it and, by extension, clearly draws a lot of its inspiration from GitHub, I much prefer Codeberg's cleaner look. I feel even the documentation is much easier to understand for beginners as there is much less clutter. Keep up the great work, guys! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

Hey security friends! After much encouragement, Bitwarden has joined the Fosstodon family ๐Ÿค—

@codeberg@mastodon.technology I use a 'throwaway email provider' with both GitLab and GitHub because I don't want my real email address to be associated with my commits in a public repository. Is there another way to authenticate myself besides using my actual email address to sign up?

@rgegriff Yeah, you can do that. Just use `$ flatpak override filesystem=/path/to/folder`. However, I don't think you can use it for `/tmp` folder.

@Tutanota I apologize for the late reply. The problem got fixed on its own but it's still a bit 'buggy'. Sometimes, the counter displays an incorrect value.

@Tutanota I tried it but it didn't work. I still see it.

@Tutanota The message counter for 'Inbox' doesn't update when I read my emails. I am using Tutanota Desktop on Linux Mint 20.

@neXtTech@nerdculture.de @fsf Next time, share a link for a Jitsi meeting. Don't try to make them ditch Zoom or WhatsApp but just slowly introduce freedom-respecting alternatives. Also, start with one person and slowly move onto more people. I admit that it's difficult, but not entirely impossible.

@Linux4Everyone@fosstodon.org I think this is partly because, for many people, there are only two types of computers: computers installed with Windows and Apple's 'Macs'. They are probably not aware of other options.

@lienrag @Tutanota Don't they have their own implementation of CAPTCHA?

@nitrokey I am glad NitroKey exists in the first place! It's much easier to trust a security device with open source software and hardware than something like . Keep up the great work, guys! I appreciate that you guys keep supporting Linux and open source. ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ ๐Ÿ˜Ž ๐Ÿ†
