I really want to be able to buy music without . Music streaming services, like Spotify and Apple Music, really suck! It's really annoying when your songs suddenly disappear. ๐Ÿ˜‘

@dec31 Thanks for the link! I've never heard of Qobuz before. Is it any good?

@sudo I've been buying music there for years. Music is lossless / CD quality, and can be downloaded without DRM. Not always the cheapest, but it sometimes is.

They started as a French company, mostly offering classical music, jazz. They were struggling financially a few years ago, and they've been bought by a bigger group. You can find most music genres now, and I think prices went up a bit, but they still offer DRM-free lossless downloads, so that's good. I recommend them.

@dec31 That's amazing! How could I have missed this? I searched all over for a place where I could purchase DRM-free music. It doesn't seem to have everything but there is a decent selection of songs that I like. Thanks for the recommendation. ๐Ÿ˜„

@sudo You're welcome :) I don't know why it's so hard to find DRM-free content/services. Probably not as profitable?
I don't really trust streaming services (more specifically copyright owners) in 30 years from now to still offer all the music/books/films I enjoy today.

@dec31 I've heard that Amazon and iTunes offer DRM-free downloads of purchased music but it isn't really mentioned on their own websites, so I could never really be sure.
