I'm interested, in addition to my current smartphone, to go back daily to an old style cellphone (with no apps, only SMS ans phone calls)

I would use my smartphone exceptionally, only when I need it, and keep it away

I think there is too much distraction with both my laptop and my smartphone

What do you think about it? Do you know brands producing this kinda stuff? Open hardware and modularity are welcome :)

@sphyphes Try it. It isn't as horrible as it seems at first.

@sudo my fear is that 2G network are to be dismantled soon

@sphyphes If that happens, you have your smartphone to fall back on. Besides, those phones are pretty inexpensive. You won't lose much.

@sphyphes Another option is to get a PinePhone or a Librem 5. Although, I am going to wait for about a year in order to let them mature as a platform. Until then, the 'basic phone' it is.

@sudo probably I'll think about a pinephone
But will I get less distraction than a standard Android device? And less exposure to screens?

@sphyphes Many apps are currently unsupported for mobile Linux platforms. I don't think 'distractions' are an issue yet.
