A reprise of my #librem5 benchmark to add the #pinephone

tl;dr – this is based on the build times of a C++ project I’m puttering around with
No real news. The L5 is about twice as fast as the pinephone in this case. Neither is actually fast. My desktop’s best time is 2.3 seconds compared to the L5’s 36
@someunexpectedsparks Thank you for sharing, however, I doubt a compilation benchmark is representative for typical loads on smartphones.
Isn't there anything more meaningful to benchmark like a browser benchmark? First idea: browserbench.org

Yeah. For the moment, it's not really high end hardware the #Linux phone movement needs. It's the software to give a basic, functional smartphone. (A nice change, historically). We're getting there, but the cheaper the available hardware is, the more developers we can get it to, and the more people we have working on the basics. Once the basic software is down, it's easy to put out hardware that takes better advantage of it.
