He founded the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation which is dedicated to the preservation of Finland's ancient forests
He eventually gave up his day job to go be a full-time fisherman
It's unfortunate that so few know about Linkola
He passed-away in his sleep April 5th 2020 of natural causes at the age of 87
