That's true. Better technology leads to new ways of finding energy, new energy uses, and also ways of using that energy more efficiently.

Where I live they are talking about banning wood stoves/fireplaces.
I don't think they understand why certain people in certain areas still use those.

I wasn't familiar with Mathew Crawford's work until just now, but his description of "Chaos Agents" in the medical freedom movement is spot on. I've noticed very similar things, but didn't yet have a name for it other than "infiltrators." I think "Chaos Agents" is a much better name, and these agents have really done a number on the movement. They infiltrate, co-opt, then try to blow up the movement from the inside.
