@linmob thanks for this - Ill likely have the same issue (although mixing gnome and KDE apps seems to take up a lot of space with runtimes ...). There's a great space mapping program called baobab you can install (apt install baobab) and run (appears as Disk Usage Analyser) on the L5 in landscape mode that gives a nice overview of where disk is being used.

@scottt I used the CLI app ncdu for figuring out the disk usage, but baobab surely is also an option.
