I honestly think my Linux experience has never been this great!
Dit is vuurwerkafval van de afgelopen jaarwisseling. Allemaal gevonden in onze tuin en allemaal uit de buurt afkomstig.
Als ik het meteen begin januari had verzameld, waren het minder losse stukjes geweest. Toch is het een aanzienlijke hoeveelheid.
Heel goed dat onze overheid overweegt om Facebook en wellicht ook X niet meer te gebruiken. Vandaag mee beginnen!
Maar voor zo'n stap hoef je niet eerst zorgen over privacy te hebben. De Nederlandse overheid mag zichzelf nooit afhankelijk maken van zo'n (Amerikaans) commercieel bedrijf!
En dus ook niet van andere (Amerikaanse) commerciële bedrijven.

Vandaag heb ik de accu van mijn acht jaar oude Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition 2015 (9343) vervangen, omdat het verder nog steeds een prima laptop is. Hij heeft al diverse Linux-distributies gezien en draait alweer geruime tijd Ubuntu Unity.
En nu kan ik eindelijk weer langer dan 5 tot 10 minuten zonder stopcontact 😎

Als Nederlandse school, overheidsinstelling, of bedrijf zoals bijvoorbeeld een dierentuin, moet je jezelf niet afhankelijk maken van grote Amerikaanse bedrijven zoals Meta (Facebook) of X (Twitter).
Zet nieuwsberichten op je eigen website en publiceer ze op een 'open' manier, zoals via RSS of Mastodon en hef je account bij de genoemde bedrijven op.
Ja, het is even wennen. Wellicht kan #SIRE hier bewustzijn kweken. Na een tijdje is het mijden van die bedrijven net zo normaal als het rookverbod
