Looking over possible degree paths that I can start at my community college somewhat limits the choices. One option is cybersecurity, which seems to be in high demand from both federal and state government as they're offering some attractive scholarships ie https://mhec.state.md.us/preparing/Pages/FinancialAid/CyberSecurity-Scholarship-Program.aspx where they'll pay for a full ride in exchange for working an equal time in government infosec. I've seen similar for federal.

A part of going back to school is to start filling the gap on my resume since I've been sick. It seems like this would be a good way to get a foot in the door/ time on paper, plus a clearance. Thought's from anyone in related fields? cc @thegibson @lnxw37a2

Just make sure not to see information you shouldn't. I've heard from a GCHQ contractor that sometimes when that happens, the workers who see the information are put on medical leave, "treated", and aren't the same when they come back.
