Exclusive: Slack-rival Element wins largest ever collaborative software deal
The win points to the growing concern about privacy in communications around the world.
@sir positively surprised that you use SI units
Really excited to share the details of the academic Matrix research that Florian Jacob and team have been up to at KIT DSN - come learn all about how Matrix decomposes over at: https://matrix.org/blog/2020/06/16/matrix-decomposition-an-independent-academic-analysis-of-matrix-state-resolution 👀🤓👩🏾💻
Brilliant project that tidies up public domain ebooks.
Gutenberg and Internet Archive are wonderful resources, but the texts are poorly formatted for actual use, especially on ereaders.
This is a volunteer driven initiative to bring these texts up to date with modern standards and make them look as good as possible on the page.
"Imagine if every WP site came with its own Matrix community? Imagine an excellent Matrix client available as a WordPress plugin for embedding realtime chat into your site?"
Love this partnership!

1) I'd say something's seriously wrong with your society if you're relying on inheritance to get you out of that situation. Not everyone would be so lucky.
2) A decade after publishing, say, should be plenty of time for you to establish your authorship over a creative work and get a decent income. Though ideally you'd get paid before hand so there's less need for those capitalists to lend you money.
3) O.K., I'll lay off that. Had to get it off my chest again.
@tripofmice Agreed. Have you read A Memory Called Empire ( https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/37794149-a-memory-called-empire , couldn't find your fedireads instance and don't have one yet myself) ?
@tejrnz While mattermost is open, it's open core. Please also take a look at matrix/riot: https://www.troopmessenger.com/blogs/mattermost-vs-matrix
@wowaname The spec is versioned and version 1.0 was released https://matrix.org/blog/2019/06/11/introducing-matrix-1-0-and-the-matrix-org-foundation
@sir there exists a matrix client that presents as an irc server: https://github.com/matrix-org/matrix-ircd . It's not like it's impossible, someone just needs to write the code. And for matrix the spec is open, so it's easier than reverse engineering the many systems that matrix can bridge.

@tripofmice There are usually alternatives to modals. Modals should usually be avoided. That said, I haven't looked at this instance in particular.
