@pkimpton have you tried the DuckDuckGo Privacy browser?
@nickh On my phone not as of yet. Temporarily switched back to Chrome. But I'll be testing it out. And removed Brave off my phone.
@pkimpton after figuring out that Chrome resolves at the DNS specified by you/your computer, and then proxies Ads and other stuff to their DNS. Its the same way spyware works
@nickh Well you see, on my laptop I block ads via a modified host file so there's a ton that don't get through. Now that Brave is on my laptop, even a ton more won't get through at all.
@nickh Had no issues accessing one of my mobile banking sites, and PayPal through the Duck browser. Was able to shoot my roommate 50 that I toss him weekly to help out with bills. So definitely no issues with PayPal. the app sucks itself.
@nickh Scoping out iftop on the command line I just what's running in my tabs currently. Only thing else running is some amazon traffic from server hosting the backbone of twitter.
@pkimpton Nice! Glad to help!
@pkimpton same here on the lazy, once I figured out that my top 5 browsers on Android were reporting back to places I wasn't accessing, I just stopped using my Spy Brick for stuff that required privacy.
I am excited to put the Mobile PureBroswer through its passes. I trust it but I will feel better when it at least "scores" higher than the others.
