Here is a must-read post from children's author Maggie Tokuda-Hall on how Scholastic offered to publish her book — all she had to do was remove all mention of racism.

Sure, they're banning books in Tennessee and Texas. But it's not just the books that get published and then banned from the library. It's all the books that don't get published in the first place.

Those banning books know publishers like Scholastic pull this cowardly bullshit. It's their game plan.

@kittenlikeasmallcat I'm still feeling somewhat vague on the value proposition behind having tunnelling baked into the browser. Are we striving for matryoshka packets that rattle around the planet several times before eventually being delivered, transiting multiple redundant and unrelated VPNs in the process? If so, I'll certainly listen...

When people tell me they are moderates during this crisis of fascism, I understand how Hitler succeeded.

And as always (when I get it right), here is the animation from stills - originally* 815 images at 10seconds, f/4, iso2500.

* reduced to maybe <700 images as it faded, editing in shotcut

Atmospheric track that perfectly captures the feeling of desperately striving in an inherently, implacably hostile environment, in which survival is in no sense assured.

Today, the Scottish Parliament voted overwhelmingly in favor of protecting trans rights. It wasn't even close. The lawmakers of Scotland actually listened to medical experts, respected science, and refused to permit hateful propaganda to dictate control of vulnerable people. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❤️

I have an appointment on the 12th to get trigger point injections in my upper back. I have had them before, and I know they work, and that knowledge is keeping me alive right now. The pain and neuropathy I am in right now have been continuously present for over a month. If I was not certain this would end, and soon, I would be genuinely considering suicide.

If you say "fuck you" to a Nazi, who gets banned?

Thirsty Sword Lesbians won the first-ever Nebula Award given to a #ttrpg earlier this year, and now that the Gold ENnies for Best Game and Product of the Year have arrived, I thought it was time to share a picture

So proud that this game I thought would resonate with a few other internet lesbians has come so far

Give her what she really wants this holiday season. Death to the patriarchy, an ancient tome of curses from the forest witch, the hearts of her enemies, and deep pockets in every dress and pair of pants.
