Has anyone had any luck setting up a wifi #hotspot with #Gnome ?

I'm trying to use my laptop to share an ethernet connection.

First there's the problem of the DHCP (which apparently is missing from Gnome's wifi hotspot setup), so I hard set the client IP to a static address. But that didn't solve anything, since I can't ping anything beyond the the gateway itself (10.42.0.1)

@Naughtylus are you setting up the WiFi hotspot while connected to the internet via a network connection other than the WiFi card you are trying to hotspot?

The second part you will have to deal with is how your network daemon deals with this type of set up.

NetworkManager wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/N

It is also possible that you will need `modemmanager` module for NetworkManger

Hope this helps
