A combo of and my home server setup, I am very close to being done with a few big tech data mining companies.

@nickh We use #ownCloud for that purpose, and sync the home directories of every desktop and laptop on the farm to it.

In an emergency, I grab 1 or 2 of the raid drives out of the server and evacuate. Twice the last few years, I've had to buy all new desktops and laptops, then just resync after getting Linux on the new machines. Of course we sync our phones and tablets too, as I'm sure you do!

All the other features are gravy!

@GoatsLive Seems like a solid solution for that porpoise. Sounds like we have very similar emergency plans for our raids.

I just brought a set of extra drives recently. I have been thinking of an off site backup solution being, on a schedule swapping out a drive into a fire proof box inside the safety deposit box. I visit a relative that is about an hour away pretty regularly.

Still exploring my options, so suggestions are welcome for off site backups that are well protected.
