I've now been unemployed for 6 weeks and have applied to 28 different job openings. I've only received one reply and it was from a company where I applied for a Linux support position. The reply was, and I quote, "We are impressed with your many years of experience but are curious as to why you applied for this position with so much experience." My reply was: I applied because the job looks very interesting and to be quite honest, I'm unemployed, I want to work, I'm broke, and I have no health insurance. I hope that you will still consider me for the position, even with my many years of experience.

I am waiting for their reply and hoping that they will still consider me because no other company seems to be interested in an aging tech guy.
