This is an illustration of the outside the #armynavy game in 1955. For decades, the Pennsylvania Railroad used to run special services to and from the army-navy game in Philadelphia, utilizing a nearby yard as a makeshift station. This occurred almost every year from 1936 to 1975. With the exception of 1975, this special service was always lead by fully-electric GG1 locomotives as pictured below.

In December 1876.
The first United States edition of Mark Twain's first individual extended work of fiction, the Bildungsroman The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, illustrated by True Williams, is published by the American Publishing Company. An authorised non-illustrated British edition has appeared in early June from Chatto & Windus in London (with the first review appearing on June 24 in a British magazine) and pirated editions have appeared in Canada and Germany.
Over a year ago, I wrote ”A month using XMPP (using Snikket) for every call and chat”.
For something like 15 months now, Sandra and I have used XMPP via @snikket_im for probably 99.9% of our calls, messages, and video chats, running on an Intel NUC.
We both use the Snikket mobile app, and I also use @dino and @profanity in Linux.

I did a four-page short comic for Le Lombard (Belgian publisher), it was a contribution to a big book project in French, featuring 24 other comic artists; an "advent calendar" book for Christmas. And yes, you have to cut the page every day in December to reveal a new story. I negotiated to have mine published on CC-By and made it using only FLOSS
