My buddies start pulling on their ski masks and checking their submachine guns.
"Brace yourselves!" the driver yells, and we smash through the high fence protecting the USDA's National Stone Fruit Reserve Facility, the "Fort Knox of Plums".
"Do you think we're taking this bit too far?" I ask, but my buddy smacks me in the shoulder.
"There's no time for cold feet now! You need to stay focused on the cold sweets we're about to steal from Uncle Sam's own icebox."

I do see similar language on the Mobian site: "It's recommended that you upgrade Android to the latest available version and install all system updates before installing Mobian, because Mobian uses FW files from Android partitions for enabling various peripherals (e.g. WIFI)."

@kop316 I just did this last night. Worked great. What method did you use to update the firmware though? After using MSM, the phone would be on OxygenOS 9.0.11. I think putting any Linux distro requires updating the OOS version (and firmware) to something newer. But my phone is not getting OTA updates. Is yours? Am also trying to use the Oxygen Updater app from Google Play Store, but haven't gotten that to work yet.

@micahilbery I pay Snikket to host a server for me but their server software can also be self hosted. I also use jmp. chat so that I can send sms and make voice calls from xmpp to people's phone numbers too. It is super cool technology.

Now 9 years old, it has well-and-truly redeemed itself, and more than that...just keeps on surprising!
My one reminder to folks is that #GOG have the game on their platform, and it runs 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘺 on the #SteamDeck - not one issue!

You should be able to use the apps and app stores that you trust without any gate keeping from your operating system. That’s a big part of why we chose to build our app store on @FlatpakApps
