@rmathematicus Nicely put. I cherish the Science Studies Reader that he edited.

Question: do you really have control over your data? Depending on the formats you use, that answer might be no. Here's why the Open Document Format (as used by LibreOffice and other suites) is important: blog.documentfoundation.org/bl #openstandards

A while ago I learned that Balatro is made in a fun game engine called #love2d, which turns out to be quite the cross-platform beast.
This of course meant I had no choice but to run it on my #linuxmobile phone running #postmarketos and #plasmamobile
Runs at a locked 60fps on my OnePlus 6T and plays really well besides needing some persuasion to accept screen rotation!
No movie magic, no translation layers, no virtual machines.

@WldMnDave can you add me as a contact on xmpp? I'm mattp@sendero.snikket.chat. And then I will send you an invite to the group chat directly. Not sure yet why it sometimes is not discoverable from some clients.

@cas Still hoping you write that blog post about this stuff

@SeanCasten Do people have a right to privacy? Are you also against end-to-end encryption in things like messaging? Some people are against Signal Messenger because it can be used by criminals.

after many days of work, here is another functional demo of #GNOME shell running on the secondary display connected to the #flx1. it took many hours to build the app and make everything act nice and not crash and integrate cleanly. still a long way to go but i think it is a good time to showcase the progress in the past 7 days.

i hope to get this ready and done by 13.0.9 which is the next release but obviously no promises.
