The social media landscape is pretty frustrating from a user perspective. Cohost is the latest to fall. I’ve seen in my timeline scrolling by: “good news is that can’t happen here!”

But it has. Over and over again. We’ve seen instances come and go. Sure, that isn’t the whole fediverse, and people can move to or create an account on another instance. But to the person on an instance shutting down or already gone dark, it’s pretty deflating and some never come back.

I like it here. I encourage everyone to not take it for granted.

I may switch my company's computers from Kubuntu over to Rocky Linux... over time of course. Tell me if that's a bad idea! DaVinci Resolve Studio is the single most important application we use and every other application supports Rocky fine or is a Flatpak. I would love to hear other's takes!

Maybe in actuality I should have just waited until the end of the year for Ubuntu and Resolve to match up to each other. It would serve @canonical very well to work with Blackmagic Design to bring Resolve to officially!

I just upgraded to Kubuntu 24.04 and this is the hardest time I've had installing Resolve Studio since Ubuntu 18.04 days! It's been so easy until now!! Just double click the .run file, install a couple dependencies and go! Clearly something is a good bit different since 22.04 for Resolve. I kinda regret upgrading! I really wish Blackmagic would just support Ubuntu systems or go Flatpak! Everyone would be so happy about that!!

Fixing NASCAR's point system can be very simple. Award a certain number of points based off the position you finish in the race, winning the pole, and maybe a couple other things. Then whoever has the most at the end of the season wins. Simple!

#cosmic #compositor now supports letting xwayland apps scale themselves. This is how #kde #plasma handles fractional scaling for xwayland apps by default, but for cosmic you need to enable the setting in the display settings.

What this means is that HiDPI aware xwayland apps will no longer have to be blurry on wayland!

Works great! Don't mind the small cursor, I'm sure that will be ironed out hehe
