Avui m'he assabentat que la Generalitat ha decidit que les persones que cursin FP en Administració i Gestió tindran un Mac per treballar a classe. ¿Algú em pot dir perquè collons volen un Mac per fer anar l'Excel? Estic indignat i crec que hauríem d'organitzar-nos i demanar explicacions al Departament d'Educació. Perquè compren Macs, perquè es gasten diners en llicències per Windows. Perquè es gasten diners en llicències de software privatiu i perquè collons no fan servir GNU/Linux als aules.

Declaren als jutjats del Prat dos guàrdies civils que varen vexar un ciutadà estranger que parlava el català però no el castellà.

El dijous dia 2 de setembre van declarar davant els jutjats del Prat de Llobregat dos guàrdies civils investigats per un possible delicte contra la integritat moral. Els fets van tenir lloc el 9 de desembre de 2019 a l’aeroport del Prat. Els guàrdies civils varen retenir Kris Charlier, ciutadà belga d’origen flamenc, en notar que duia alguna cosa sota la roba. Els policies no varen entendre les explicacions de Charlier, que sap parlar el català però no el castellà, i el van obligar a abaixar-se els pantalons en públic i mostrar la bossa que porta enganxada al cos a causa d’un càncer de colon.

Kris Charlier va presentar una denúncia contra els dos guàrdies civils ja que es va considerar maltractat i ell no té cap obligació de parlar el castellà i va utilitzar el català en un territori on aquesta llengua és oficial.

Els guàrdies civils, que s’han negat a respondre a les preguntes de l’acusació, han manifestat que van seguir en tot moment el protocol i un d’ells ha posat de manifest la dificultat que té per entendre el català, malgrat estar destinat a Catalunya. De fet, van denunciar per desobediència al ciutadà flamenc, denúncia que va quedar lògicament arxivada. Les imatges gravades de l’incident ja són al jutjat del Prat. La Plataforma per la Llengua ha ajudat a l’afectat en els tràmits judicials.

No és la primera vegada que la manca de coneixement del català per part de policies de l’Estat destinats a Catalunya porta problemes. A la frontera de la Jonquera diversos ciutadans francesos de la Catalunya Nord han estat retinguts per la policia en algunes ocasions per expressar-se només en francès i en català. Sembla que hi ha qui no pot concebre que algú que parla català no sàpiga també el castellà.

As someone who just got back into academia, I agree with this.
The amount of obstacles to publishing research from "industrial partners"(in the UK, you jst say "customers"), and the ability of industry to determine what is researched at, has grown like crazy in the last 20 years, and based on older colleagues' stories, at least since the early 1990's.

Incentives for "relevant" research are not per se bad but it's been going too far for quite some time now.
