The thing about Ascendance of a Bookworm is if you're the sort of person that cares as much about worldbuilding details like what the characters all wear all the time and the economies of the duchy and villages... it's very good. And when anime reviewers were like, "Ok but they just talked about business" I'm like YES THAT IS GOOD.

Starting to break the encryption on text appended to my input data before it goes through AES128 ECB encryption

Woot! Just completed the first set of challenges from ๐Ÿ˜

I broke a repeating key XOR encryption for cryptopals! It's a clever algorithm; first key size is guessed. Then each byte is placed into a bucket for 1st/2nd/3rd/etc byte of the key. At this point you break each byte using character frequency analysis. ๐Ÿ˜

Just solved "Search in Rotated Sorted Array" on Leetcode: leetcode.com/problems/search-i

It was interesting to solve it in `O(log n)` time, as I had to use a binary search to find the pivot, instead a specific value. I love problems that take an old tool and use it in a new way.

Listen, can we stop already with the master -> main thing, please? The keyboard warriors pining for it would find their time much better spent protesting things like the summary execution of the black population by the police. Our priorities are severely out of order here.

Made a simple chat app using , SDL2, pathfinder[0], and ENet[1]! The long-term plan is to make a multiplayer game like minecraft.

Silly but fun demo of self-hosted Zig progress:

asciinema.org/a/ZZ9h3zM86E9pVC

It compiles a zig source file with 1,000,000 calls to print("hello world") in 0.67 seconds using 471 MiB resident memory. This is 8x as fast as clang on equivalent C code and 3x less memory.

@sir It's a couple of craftsmanships (design, implementation, probably something else). So you can make science of it (e.g. what goes fast for what kind of problem etc.), you can use it to create art (just like painting a craft, but the way you do it makes it art) so it may be subject to both, one, or none. But I'd not say it *is* one or the other.

I keep having to re-learn this: queue your yaks, don't stack them.

If you find a new bug while debugging something, file an issue, and continue with your debugging, Don't complicate things by trying to do many things at a time.

@wizard @sir Artists will still be able to sell their work. Removing copyright will change which business models are sustainable, but I bet that independent artists (especially those already on platforms like Patreon) would see no difference to their business model.

copyright

@LogicalDash@cybre.space @ajroach42 I don't think this is necessary. Artists can still sell their time (i.e. commissions), and can still sell prints or access to the digital art. They can also use Patreon and the likes to get support. But nobody "deserves" money just because they happen to make art.

I'm not against a state sponsered art program, but it would still have to decide who it sponsors. It's usefulness is independent of copyright.

Jitsi Meet: How many video participants in a single conference room can a self hosted server support? Didn't find a good answer so I tried it out myself:
