Anyone know of an audio connector tasking thing for Linux? I want to have my speakers and headphones both plugged in and switch audio between them as necessary, rather than having to switch what's plugged in all the time. Can't seem to do that through Pulse (at leas not that I can figure out!)

@welshpixie Is this on a laptop or PC? I ask because laptops usually automatically disable speakers when the headphone jack is plugged in. This can sometimes be fixed in the BIOS. However if it's a PC then possibly pavucontrol? Otherwise you could script it with pulseaudios CLI systutorials.com/docs/linux/ma.

@joshfowler PC with motherboard audio. It's Pavu I'm trying it with but it doesn't pick up anything in the other jacks when there's something plugged into the main jack. However, I just remembered that my headphones are actually wireless, so if I get my ass into gear and keep them charged I can just use that XD

@welshpixie Hmmm, sounds like it's doing some kind of automatic disabling of other outputs, there's probably a way around that in one of the pulse modules. However wireless headphones do make this easier!

@joshfowler Indeed! The noise cancellation only works when they're charged too, and since I use them specifically for audio transcription jobs this is also a useful feature so two reasons for me to keep them charged 😂
