Follower here from Canada! You wouldn't be kicked off my Mastodon instance (if I had one).

@christitus I think I have a workaround to avoid re-installing Ubuntu from scratch. Instead of MySQL I will have a go at MariaDB, which is in the Deb repositories.

I would still prefer the UI of Workbench over phpMyAdmin, but I'll try it out for a while anyway.

I decided to replace Ubuntu with Deb10 this week. Everything went fairly well except I can't get MySQL running. Any help for this? If I can't figure it out, I may need to go back to Ubuntu.

Will restoring from a TimeShift snapshot work if I made partition changes on installing Deb10?
