Are any of the people proposing months-long lock downs actually going without a paycheck right now? Or does it just so happen to coincidentally be the case that nearly every person in favor of these measures is also not being financially harmed by them? https://twitter.com/MattWalshBlog/status/1242431072392052736?s=20

@Aphid
I don't know if the erosion of our rights can be described as gradual anymore.

There are several mastodon backend services that aren't too bad. I'm personally on librem one and I really like them. I've also found that the people over at free speech extremist are pretty cool too.
The great thing about the fediverse is that we can follow each other and talk to each other without having to join different servers. We can even follow people at gab as there are some people there that aren't too bad.

@RealAlexJones
The survey is wrong. I am an American and I am convinced of no such thing.

I'm still working, still getting my normal paycheck, and I get 1200 dollars from the government. I'm not saying that I couldn't use it, but this is pure socialism. This will only make the debt our country is in much worse and drive inflation way up. In the long run, this isn't going to help at all.

Many parents now days would need to learn these things themselves before they could teach them to their kids.

The governor of my state today declared that schools are to remaine closed until April 17, restaurants and bars are ordered to be closed to dine in customers, and indoor venues are to be closed except for essential functions.

I'm not sure when I moved to a dictatorship, but I do not like it!

Just tell everyone that you have corona, they won't make you leave the house for two weeks minimum.
They don't have to know that you were talking about the beer.

@Secftblgirl
I can almost guarantee that the restaurants will be nearly empty and you will have people waiting on you hands and foot.

As a general rule, I don't go out to eat very often; I'm too cheap. But in this time of "social distancing," I decided to make an exception. I love cracker barrel in general. It is even nicer when no one else is there.
