@freedomboxfndn is incorporating support for mobile based network in freedom box in timeline? As Librem5 has done it?

@imcmjha

Building support for running a FreedomBox server on a mobile device is not currently on our timeline. But in the past, our developers have experimented with this and expressed interest in it as a potential use case.

We have, however, focused on mobile support for FreedomBox use. One of our developers, @njoseph , built an app for f-droid/android which enables you to detect FreedomBox on your network and find client apps designed for mobile devices.

@freedomboxfndn @imcmjha I wrote about my experiments running FreedomBox on a mobile device here

I think @imcmjha if asking is FreedomBox can run on mobile data. A colleague of mine was trying to create a fully portable FreedomBox with mobile data from a USB SIM adapter and powered by a mobile battery bank. Haven't heard back from him yet.

Maybe old Purism phones can be recycled to run FreedomBox in the future, since PureOS is also a Debian variant.
